Founded in October 2003 in Taishan, Taipei, PUNKHOO enters its 23rd year in 2026.
Starting from campus performances, the band quickly gained attention through its explosive live energy and highly melodic songwriting. Rooted in American Pop Punk during its early years, PUNKHOO gradually evolved into a Melodic Punk band known for powerful rhythms, tightly structured arrangements, memorable melodies, and intense impact, becoming one of Taiwan’s most iconic three-piece punk bands.

2003–2006 | Formation & Ho-hai-yan Rock Festival Awards Era
Released their first DIY EP 《無敵四和弦》 in 2005
Released the EP 《你是誰》 in 2006
Performed over 100 shows in a single year

The only band selected for both major Ocean Music Festival competitions in the same year
Farewell concert before military service sold out completely

2007–2013 | Live Power & International Exchange
Released first live album 《PUNKHOO LIFE & LIVE》 in 2007
Released first full-length studio album 《大家好我們是胖虎》 in 2009
The only band to receive Taiwan Government Band Subsidy support twice
Surpassed 200 live performances

2014 | Reversing the Future Asian Tour
Released the EP 《Reversing the Future》 and launched a large-scale Asian tour across Taiwan, Japan, and China.
The tour covered more than 20 cities within a single month, including Tokyo, Kobe, Nagoya, Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Chongqing, and Guangzhou, marking a major milestone in the band’s career.

2016–2019 | Growth & Evolution
Released the single 〈facelife〉 in 2016
Released second full-length studio album The Forward Road in 2019
The band’s sound matured significantly, with lyrical themes shifting toward life choices, personal growth, and the realities of adulthood.

2020 | The Forward Road Asian Tour
Embarked on a major album tour covering key cities across China and prominent Taiwanese venues including Legacy Taipei and LIVE WAREHOUSE.

2021–2023 | Cross-Industry Projects & 20th Anniversary
Produced annual theme songs for the CPBL Wei Chuan Dragons baseball team for three consecutive years
Launched a large-scale 20th Anniversary Tour in 2023 across Taiwan and China
Twenty years of music became more than a discography—it became the soundtrack to an entire generation’s youth.

2025 | New Lineup, New Chapter
Following the addition of bassist RONN, the band released two new singles:
• 《龐克笨蛋 PUNKBAKA》
• 《說不出的話 A SAD LOVE SONG》
These works marked a return to emotional honesty and straightforward expression, while elevating the band’s already explosive live performances.
Nominated for Best Live Performance Award at the 16th Golden Indie Music Awards
The nomination represented not only recognition for a single year, but an acknowledgment of PUNKHOO’s 23-year legacy of live performance excellence and stage presence.

From winning the Ho-Hai-Yan Ocean Music Awards to receiving a Golden Indie Award nomination for Best Live Performance, the band’s 23-year journey has transformed into a more mature, precise, and internationally minded stage presence.
The next chapter continues with new music and increasingly ambitious live productions aimed at expanding their reach across Asia and beyond.
